It was stated in the Global Report on Human Settlements 2011, “Cities and Climate Change”, by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme, that “the effects of urbanisation and climate change are converging in dangerous ways which threaten to have unprecedented negative impacts upon quality of life, and economic and social stability”. Obviously urban low carbon and ecological development, and the safety of engineering structures and their service life have become increasingly prominent challenges in our world.
The 2014 Conference on Low Carbon Eco City and Engineering Structural Safety, which will take place in Chongqing, provides opportunities for academics, professional planners, engineers, architects and government officials to come together for interdiscipliary sharing of their research and best practices.

Abstract and paper submission
When an abstract is submitted, the author should provide their CV and contact information. The abstract and full text must be in MS Word format. The author should indicate in his or her abstract "read only", "publishing only" or "read and publishing". The email address for submission of abstracts and full texts is sscd2014@163.com.
Chinese attendees: RMB 1200 (RMB 600 for full-time students).
International attendees: $200 ($100 for full-time students).
The registration fee includes meals during the conference and CD-ROM paper collection. (High-quality papers will be published in several supporting journals and a book by a publishing company.)
