CBBC members attend lunch with Ambassador in Shanghai
On 28 April, members of the China-Britain Business Council and the British Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai attended an exclusive lunch with the British Ambassador, Barbara Woodward, combined with the official launch of the 2016 British Business Awards.
Speaking at the InterContinental Hotel, Ms Woodward highlighted three major events in the coming months: the EU-China Business Summit in July, the G20 in Hangzhou in September (which includes a bilateral meeting between Prime Minister David Cameron and Premier Li Keqiang) and the 2016 UK-China Economic & Financial Dialogue in London in the autumn.
Launching this year's British Business Awards, Ms Woodward encouraged all UK businesses in China to enter, in order to highlight and celebrate their achievements. For more information or to apply for one of the awards, please visit www.britishbusinessawards.cn.
Jeff Astle, executive director of CBBC, and Philip Roebuck, executive director of the Shanghai Chamber, also spoke at the event.
Special thanks to Röder Group for sponsoring the tent for the event.
