CBBC prominent at Overseas NGO Forum with government leaders in Shanghai

The Overseas NGO Forum (境外非政府组织座谈会) was held in Shanghai on 25 July by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Civil Affairs. 
The foreign speakers set out their views on the new NGO Law and the current climate in this field. Chinese government officials praised overseas NGOs’ contribution to the development of the Chinese economy and society, as well as their influence on international relations.
CBBC Director Simon Stewart spoke in front of senior officials at the forum
The China-Britain Business Council was invited to speak at the forum in front of a senior audience including a State Councillor, Vice-Ministers, Mayors and Consuls-General.
"CBBC continues to work closely with UK & Chinese government organisations at a national and regional level to further strengthen bilateral trade and co-operation," CBBC Director Simon Stewart told an audience which included State Councillor for Security Guo Shengkun, Deputy Secretary-General of the Legal Affairs Committee Xu Xianming, two Vice-Ministers for Public Security, Mayor of Shanghai Yang Xiong, and the Consuls-General of the UK, US and Germany.
