CBBC and CBI are delighted to invite you to join us at the fourth China-Eurasia Expo, to be held in Urumqi from 1 to 6 September.

CBBC and CBI have supported the past three sessions of the Expo and are committed to helping UK companies win business opportunities in north-west China and beyond into Central Asia. The joint delegation will be led by Stephen Phillips, CEO, CBBC, and Guy Dru Drury, Chief Representative, CBI China.

CBBC and CBI believe that Xinjiang offers exciting opportunities to British companies in a range of sectors, in particular:
  • Resources/energy;
  • Financial and professional services;
  • Infrastructure and built environment;
  • Agrifoods.

The provisional programme is as follows:

  • 31 Aug (eve) - Welcome reception
  • 1 Sept (pm) - Opening ceremony & China-Eurasia Economic Development and Cooperation Forum
  • 2 Sept (pm) - Economic exchange between Xinjiang and five West European countries
  • 3-4 Sept - Visit to companies/government bureaus/associations according to the delegation’s requirements
  • 5 Sept - Scenic tour
  • 6 Sept - Leave Xinjiang
During the visit you will be able to participate in a range of forums and seminars and, where possible, we will also try to work with our partners to arrange tailored meetings for you. Kindly appreciate this will be done without charge, so the extent of support will be somewhat limited.

The series of forums and seminars organised as part of the overall Expo programme include the China-Eurasia Economic Development and Cooperation Forum, the China-Central Asia Cooperation Forum on Sci-Tech and Innovation, the Transport Summit of the Silk Road Economic Belt, as well as a forum on economic exchange between Xinjiang and five West European countries (including the UK) to be held on 2 September.

Depending on your specific interests, we will endeavour to work closely with the organisers to arrange, wherever possible, dedicated introductions to the relevant investment and trade environment for your business, meetings with relevant companies and participation in trade-matching activities.

In addition, the Expo organisers have advised us that they will offer participants optional, complementary travel services to enable you to enjoy the extraordinary beauty of Xinjiang.

We do hope that you will be able to join us. Please note that all attendees are expected to cover their own travel and accommodation costs.
