China International Fair for Trade in Services and Lord Green's visit to China

The inaugural China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) will take place in Beijing from 28 May to 1 June.
CIFTIS is hosted by China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and organised by the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, and is designed to be a comprehensive international service trading platform for trade in services. The trade fair will cover twelve sub-sectors including business services, communication services, construction & related engineering services, financial services, tourism & travel related services, recreation, cultural & sporting services, transport services, health related & social services, educational services, distribution services, environmental services, etc.

The Fair will feature a large exhibition, a high level forum to discuss global development in services, and separate sector forums and trade discussions between Chinese cities and international participants.

UK at the CIFTIS: Lord Green's visit to China

Lord Green, Minister of State for Trade & Investment, will also lead a high profile, multi-sector Trade Mission to Beijing at the end of May and will be taking part at CIFTIS. There will be a tailor made 'UK Day' at the Fair to showcase British companies and will provide a business to business networking and trading opportunity for the accompanying business delegation.

This UKTI multi-sector trade mission will offer businesses across different service sectors a direct route into the China market. Key focus sectors on this mission include:

  • Communication (Advertising/Branding/Corporate Communications/Digital Media)
  • Construction and related Architectural and Engineering Services
  • Design (Industrial/Product)
  • Education (Vocational and HE)
  • Environmental and Low Carbon Consultancy
  • Museums and Attractions
  • Professional and Business Services (including Financial)
