Community Liaison Director - TSL Education

TSL Education is based in the north-east of Beijing next to Maquanying subway station. Aside from our small school, we are also involved in a government project working with twenty public schools, a number of publishing projects, an organic farm, a literary journal for teenagers and a new university initiative. Most importantly, we have an incredible team who are passionate about finding innovative solutions to improving global education.  
The Community Liaison Director (CLD) will work with the HR Director, Director of Studies and TSL management to help recruit and onboard all new team members while making sure all existing staff are positive and motivated. They also oversee school engagement and work closely with our content manager. The CLD currently has responsibilities for helping to organise both the China and UK summer courses. 
This is a challenging multi-faceted role that requires an extremely positive personality, confidence to drive things forward and impeccable organisation and attention to detail.

Community Liaison
Maintain staff happiness
Write the newsletter every Friday
Organise and promote staff socials 
Hire and manage interns
Organise TSL Induction for new staff members
Help new staff settle into Beijing
Manage all contract and visa issues for foreign staff
Update the Staff Handbook
Take and distribute minutes, where required
Interview current staff and obtain feedback
Overseeing the School Calendar
Keeping on top of staff birthdays
Making sure PEEPPS are being kept to, updated and maintained
Proofreading, copy editing and writing
Working closely with the designer
Overseeing and filing Internals & Blasts
School Engagement 
Maintain noticeboards in the school
Share positive developments in the school
Develop a strong sense of community within the school
Human Resources 
Seek new avenues for recruitment
Manage foreign staff hiring flow
Update job descriptions regularly
Screen incoming CVs/resumes and interview candidates
Arrange interviews with DOS/Co-founders
Maintain and update the staff database (paper and electronic)
Organise the timetables for Training Weeks
Account for same-day absences, sickness, holiday and other leave
Attend Scheduling and Management meetings
Arrange mid-contract and exit interviews with the co-founder
Coordinate part-time teachers’ schedules
Liaise with the Admin Manager before payday
Summer Courses
Planning or updating the timetable using the Camford Handbook
Booking activities well in advance
Recruitment and arranging mentor interviews in Cambridge (March/April)
Ongoing communication with student mentors and delegation of tasks
Organising post-Camford events and promotion
Reimbursement and payment arrangements with Camford Education
Interview and recruit temporary summer staff
Coordinate teacher-student schedules
Build the course timetable with Head of Academic Support and Director of Studies
Essential Requirements 
Native English speaker
University degree
Two years of post-degree work experience
Work experience in schools or university (preferred)
Working Mandarin speaking ability (preferred)
Additional Requirements

Communicating professionally with students, staff and parents
Balancing quality education with the requirements of the business
Acting as a positive ambassador for the company 
Assisting at promotional events
Job Details
9am-5pm Monday to Friday
15,000RMB a month salary in year one
17,000RMB a month salary in year two
One-to-one tutoring overtime available (240RMB an hour)
Full work visa (Z-Visa)
