Lord Mayor of London's business delegation tours China with support from CBBC

Between 21 and 24 September 2015, the China-Britain Business Council joined UK Trade & Investment to arrange an extensive programme of business meetings, briefings and networking events for the business delegation of the Lord Mayor of London during his visit to China.
On 21 September, the Lord Mayor’s delegation attended two events organised by CBBC with local partners: the London Capital Markets Roundtable, which featured speeches by the chief representative of the London Stock Exchange in China and the president of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange; and the Qianhai-London RMB Internationalisation Seminar.
CBBC and UKTI joined local partners to organise the China-UK Asset Management Forum for the delegation on 22 September. Delegates also attended a Carbon Finance Roundtable organised by the British Consulate-General and a local partner.
From 22 to 24 September, the delegation accompanying the Lord Mayor attended private meetings, arranged by CBBC’s office in Shanghai, and a briefing from CBBC’s local chief representative Wu Chen on opportunities for British business in the Shanghai region.
CBBC led the UK delegates to meet Fosun Group at their headquarters, where topics included Fosun’s international ambitions in insurance, banking and infrastructure, and their views on investing into the UK. Delegates also attended the sixth International Shipping Strategic Development Forum at which CBBC executive director Jeff Astle spoke.

CBBC organised a welcome dinner for the business delegation in Beijing on 24 September.
