Dulwich College Beijing has been nominated for British International School of the Year 2011, which is part of the Independent School Awards.  This nomination is based on Dulwich fulfilling the criteria of being an inspirational school based outside of the UK, that espouses a British education, and has made a strategic or financial achievement of note.  The two other schools on the shortlist for this award include: Brookhouse International, Kenya and The British School, Netherlands.

For the official submission, Dulwich College highlighted the student efforts that have been made with local migrant schools in Beijing.  The school embraces an ongoing programme to make contributions to these communities through student exchanges, field trips, and fundraisers.

The Independent School Awards recognise excellence in the strategic and financial management of schools in the UK, and they are organised by the team behind Funding for Independent Schools magazine.  The awards ceremony will take place in Birmingham, UK on Wednesday 16 November.  To read more about the Independent School Awards, please visit their website http://www.fisawards.co.uk/.
