Succeeding in China: CRCC Asia Wins BBA Entrepreneur of the Year Award
BritCham- CBBC member, CRCC Asia, wins the award category for ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ at the 2012 British Business Awards. This is the latest feather in the cap in what has been a remarkable year for the London- based China recruitment and consultancy specialists.
The British Business Awards are an awards programme organised by the British Chambers of Commerce in China to recognise and promote excellence in innovation enterprise and endeavour amongst the British business community in China. Established in 2008, the awards programme is held every two years, with the 2012 Awards run by The British Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai and presented by Britain’s Ambassador to China, Sebastian Wood. The Entrepreneur of the Year Award recognises CRCC Asia’s continuing achievements in enterprise and successful endeavours in China.
CRCC Asia has pioneered the concept of the China Internship Programme, remaining the leading provider over the last six years through constant innovation and a management team with a combined China-expertise of over 50 years.
CRCC Asia believes in creating pipelines to professional and personal development and has helped over 3000 students and graduates complete work placements in China over the past four years. 30% of these participants were offered permanent positions upon completion of the programme.
Their work was acknowledged in 2010 upon receiving the Cathay Pacific New Horizons China Business Award. CRCC Asia has since gone on to gain further recognition by working with the UK Government’s Department of Business, Innovation and Skills to deliver the government-funded China Internship Programme for British students in March 2012.
On receiving the Entrepreneur of the Year Award, co-founder and co-Director of CRCC Asia, Edward Holroyd Pearce, said “We are delighted to be honoured with the British Business Award for Entrepreneur of the Year. We strongly believe that our China Internship Programme helps to prepare the next generation of leaders who will manage the growing political, economic and cultural ties between Britain and China. Education in this manner is the best way to develop relations between China, the UK and the rest of the world”.
His fellow co-founder and co-Director, Daniel Nivern stated, “The Entrepreneur of the Year Award is a great inspiration for all of our teams around the globe who continue to work hard to build innovative programmes for international students in China. CRCC Asia will continue to act as a socially responsible company, helping to provide more and more opportunities for young people to have a once in a lifetime opportunity in China.”
The next few months and years are set to be an interesting period for CRCC Asia as they continue to develop and expand. Luise Schafer OBE has recently joined the company as a Senior Advisor who brings with her over 30 years of Sino-British business expertise. In the past two months, CRCC Asia has opened new offices in both Sydney and Venice to serve the growing interest in their China Internship Programme in Asia Pacific and Western Europe.
With fierce competition for jobs and internships in the UK, students and graduates are continuing to turn their heads east and towards the increasingly prestigious CRCC Asia China Internship Programme.
