Sinocism China Newsletter, 27/10/14

The Sinocism China Newsletter reported on 27 October 2014 that the Tianjin Free Trade Zone was ready to go after a long period in waiting. The newsletter quoted reports that the State Council had approved plans to instigate a new round of measures to open up Tianjin Port.

Besides retaining the replicable aspects of the Shanghai zone, the Tianjin Free Trade Zone will reportedly focus on financing and leasing operations to increase the benefits to internal regions. It may also have a less extensive negative list and be more open, playing the role of a free trade port, said the article.
