At our afternoon Member Connections seminar, experts from King & Capital law firm will explain the present laws and regulations relating to multinational companies, and ways in which to avert the risk of criminal litigation in China.
Topics include bribery, corruption and the legal repercussions for foreigners who break the law in this area, with one eye on the allegations made recently against multinationals in the Chinese pharmaceuticals industry, which have given rise to some concern among other executives in similar positions.
Expert speakers Catharine Guo and Edward Huang will explain what may be learned from these cases, as well as the particular criminal procedures relating specifically to FDI entities and foreign staff in China. They will also review some of the 300 cases of bribery in which King & Capital has been involved, and describe how such instances can be prevented.
We are also delighted to invite Mr Tian Wenchang to the Q&A session. Mr Tian is the founder of King & Capital, chairman of the Criminal Defence Committee of the All China Lawyers Association and "One of China’s Top 10 Excellent Criminal Defence Lawyers" as awarded by the ALB. He will be joined by criminal defence lawyers Mr Zhu Yonghui and Ms Liang Yali.
Member Connections
Member Connections is an event platform provided by BritCham and CBBC in which we give our members the rare opportunity to present information about their products, services, technologies and expertise to interested colleagues in the British business community.
Companies are offered the chance to sponsor an event, at which they are then allocated a prime speaking slot to promote themselves and their operations to the audience. Member Connections events are free for all BritCham and CBBC members to attend. They cover a variety of topics so that all attendees receive an inclusive and comprehensive overview of business developments that may affect them.
We thank King & Capital, who have sponsored this event via our Member Connections programme.
Established in 1995, King & Capital law firm is one of the oldest legal partnerships in China. It quickly established a leading position in the field of criminal litigation while developing a powerful team in the fields of contentious and non-contentious civil and commercial litigation.
