The University of Bristol is delighted to invite you to an evening reception hosted by Professors Nick Lieven (Pro Vice-Chancellor) and Nishan Canagarajah (Dean of Engineering). They will be giving an introduction to international university-industry engagement and a specific, easy to join scheme, which successfully connects companies in China with Chinese students from Bristol’s renowned Faculty of Engineering. Students from a range of courses including: Aerospace Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Civil Engineering; Computer Science; Electrical and Electronic Engineering undertake a short-term internship (from 2 weeks to 3 months) during their summer break (July-September). A wide range of pioneering companies have already signed up to the scheme with positive feedback on the capabilities and work of the students. The benefits of the scheme include: gaining a highly skilled intern for the summer, with excellent English language skills and international experience; publicity in the UK amongst similar students who could be your future employees.

The scheme is free to participate, and comes with no obligations. Professors Lieven and Canagarajah will also outline further routes for international engagement between industry and universities.

For further details, see the press release for the 2012 scheme here.
