With an increasingly competitive job market for young professionals, it is becoming ever more important to stand out from the crowd in order to secure that dream job. More and more people now look to personal branding to market themselves to employers worldwide.
The development of social media has created a platform on which we can demonstrate our abilities to a global audience. No matter whether you blog, launch a website or build up a LinkedIn portfolio, your professional profile goes out instantly for all to see.
Employers and headhunters actively seek candidates online, so it is vital to market your personal brand in the right way. But what qualities do employers look for, and how can you ensure that you make a lasting, positive impression?
Come and join our Young Professionals workshop on Wednesday 25th September to discover how to build your unique personal brand, considering your values, strengths and skills.
BritCham and CBBC have invited guest speakers Susie Bates, director of human resources for Interpublic Group (IPG), and Tracy Driscoll, associate director of the company Management Development Services, to offer us the benefit of their experience and expertise in international recruitment and coaching.
We look forward to seeing you at 7pm in Sanlitun at Che Diego! Members and non-members welcome.
NB: Entrance ticket includes canapés and two free drinks.
About the speakers
Susie Bates:
Susie has been living and working in senior HR roles in Beijing since spring 1981, and was instrumental in the start-up in China of Rolls-Royce International, where she held numerous senior positions throughout her 16 years of service. In August 2003, Susie joined the United Family Healthcare group, where she held senior human resources roles until 2011.
Tracy Driscoll:
Prior to joining Management Development Services, Tracy headed a boutique executive search company called Quadrant Consulting in Beijing from 2007 to 2010. Her role centred on high-level searches for 4A advertising agencies. She also focused on career development coaching for three years, running her own company, Aspire Coaching.
