
The event had a range of interesting highlights for members of the Chamber who participated.CBBC and BritCham invited over 20 British brands to exhibited at the 7th China (Guizhou) International Alcoholic Beverages Expo: Frist Chop (first time ever to participated at a trade show in China), Greene King beer (the beer President Xi had with the then British Prime Minister David Cameron), Tomic drinkware and many other high-quality British brands of gin, vodka, whiskey and energy drinks have joined the market visit to Guiyang.
The opening ceremony took place on the morning of the 9th September, where Nicholas Holt signed the MOU between British Chamber of Commerce and CCPIT-Guizhou. This is the first time that Guizhou has invited foreign countries to be the “主宾国” (Guest of Honor). The Guest of Honour Countries were Puerto Rico, Australia, New Zealand and the UK. A special opening ceremony with ribbon cutting was organised where Nicholas Holt gave a speech to introduce CBBC and BritCham, the UK Delegation and potential business opportunities with CCPIT in the future.
The UK delegation was led by Nicholas Holt, Vice Chair of CBBC and Chair of The British Chamber of Commerce. Nicholas Holt and other senior representatives of visiting international chambers of commerce were invited to attend an exclusive/closed door meeting with Mr. Lu Yongzheng, Deputy Governor of Guizhou Province, Mr. Lu Pengqi, Vice President of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and other senior governmental officials from Guizhou on the afternoon of the 9th.
The UK delegation has presented a diverse range of alcoholic beverage products to local consumers, covering gin, vodka, whiskey, beer, energy drinks and drinkware.
