About the Job: The Director of Product Development will improve existing products, develop new products, manage different divisions of the organisation to improve and develop their products and make sure everything organisation-wide is symbiotic and clearly aligned. This position will balance product design with time and cost implications to ensure that the company is both sustainable and capable of continued growth into the future.

Primary Responsibilities

Manage multiple projects from ideation distribution of completed product
Developing program’s project plans, metrics, schedules, budgets and other necessary project management needs
Managing and mentoring project managers who are guiding and directing diverse teams to execute projects
Ensuring delivery of projects within budgeted delivery dates
Ensuring adherence to internal and external regulatory constraints
Monitoring the competing constraints of scope, schedule, budget, resources, and risk for the product development portfolio
Applying project management methodology, best practices, and standards
Leading prototype creation, testing and smart iteration
Providing a consultative role to projects by supplying templates, best practices, training, access to information and lessons learned from other projects
Providing upper management with regular performance status, variances to plan and identification of areas for countermeasures and corrective actions
Coordinating communication across projects as required
Continuous improvement of our own project management best practices

Skills & Experience

5+ years’ experience working in education
5+ years’ experience leading teams
5+ years’ experience in project management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience leading teams to meet demanding product, quality and cost targets
Experience in leading culturally diverse teams and solving their inherent challenges
Strong skills and experience with managing external suppliers and partners
Experience with product testing and evaluation
Experience working directly with marketing and design teams
