Summary:
We’re pleased to be working with United Kingdom Visas and Immigration to inform members on policies for Chinese students studying in the UK. During the event, UKVI will provide an overview of UK visa demands in China in 2017 and provide an update on visa policies which will affect the 18/19 student intake. UKVI will also give a forecast of upcoming projects, including technological innovation, aimed at improving its customer journey and building a world-class visa service.

Speakers:
Dominique Hardy
Dominique is currently Regional Director, Asia Pacific for UK Visas and Immigration, responsible for a large and varied operational region. Since January, she is also responsible for undertaking a review of UKVI’s existing global network of customer account managers overseas, with the longer term aim of delivering further refinements to that network in support of customer service excellence. She is based in Beijing, People’s Republic of China.

Prior to joining UK Visas and Immigration in April 2013, Dominique spent two years on secondment to the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship based in Canberra. Her role included providing policy advice associated with the rising numbers of irregular maritime arrivals seeking asylum in Australia at the time.

Before this, Dominique spent three years at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), based in London and leading migration strategy development and negotiations with countries across sub-Saharan Africa. Dominique started her career in the Home Office in 2000, spending eight years undertaking a number of policy and project delivery roles, across a range of different parts of the department.

She studied Law at Liverpool University.

Jingjing Jiang
Jingjing Jiang has more than 6 years experience with UK Visas and Immigration. Jingjing took the role of Account Manager in 2014, covering study and official visa schemes with the responsibility for supporting partners and customers in the education sector and the Chinese government.
Prior to joining UKVI, Jingjing spent three years in the United States. She obtained a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from the University of Washington, and worked with a non-profit organization specializing in providing educational programme for youth.
