CBBC’s unique Great British Brands Festival (GBBF) series focuses on selling UK products directly to Chinese shoppers and helping British retailers to establish a strong base in the fast-emerging Chinese consumer markets. CBBC will organise high-profile UK-themed sales exhibitions and work with Chinese government bodies and trusted business partners.

The 1^st Great British Brand Festival was held in October 2013 and was jointly organised by BritCham, CBBC and the DIT (formerly known as UKTI) in partnership with MOFCOM’s Trade Development Bureau, the Beijing Municipal Commission of Commerce and the Zhuozhan Shopping Centre in Beijing.

Since 2013, GBBFs have been held in many cities across China including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Changsha, Chengdu, Shenyang, Qingdao, Changchun, Fuzhou, Nanjing and Zhengzhou. Previous events have usually either been held in themed areas of large shopping malls, or as a British Pavilion at exhibitions.

At this Forum, CBBC will introduce the GBBF event programme for 2017. Guest speakers from the British House will share their experiences of how British brands have entered the diverse China market through both online and offline channels. The event will also include a presentation from a representative of 5 Star Plus Retail Design, who will share insights on The Future of Retail: Entertainment and Lifestyle with participating companies.
