Innovation Shapes the Elite and Makes the Future

Description

The beginning of 2018 witnessed the first state visit by Theresa May to China, which May claimed assisted in the continuation of the ‘golden era’ in UK-China relations. More importantly, the visit highlighted new educational links with China, such as the extensions of a math teacher exchange program, joint training of pre-school staff, and better information-sharing in vocational education. As a result of these initiatives, it can be expected that 2018 will witness more children and young people benefiting from educational projects and enjoy sharing ideas about China and the UK. As Mrs. May has stated, education will ensure that ‘our golden era of co-operation will endure for generations to come’.

During the dialogue with Theresa May, President Xi quoted William Shakespeare, stating that: ‘What’s past is prologue.’ In December 2017, the Chinese Vice Premier Madam Liu Yandong attended the UK-China People-to-People (P2P) Dialogue in the UK. During the dialogue, Liu pointed out that education, science and technology are key areas for Sino-British cooperation, and hoped to strengthen existing collaboration between higher education institutions.

In the spirit of the ‘golden era’, First Landing Education (FLE) intends to carry forward bilateral educational initiatives and forge ahead in the field of international education.
