[Shenzhen] BRI seminars

Description

We cordially invite you to a BRI seminar to be held on July 12th (Wednesday) in Shenzhen to explore UK-China trade opportunities under the “Belt and Road” initiative. (Please find details below)

In the past three years, China-Britain Business Council has carried out a lot of research regarding the development and promotion of China’s “The Belt and Road Initiatives”. In September 2015, the China-Britain Business Council along with the UK’s foreign and commonwealth office jointly published an report about “One Belt One Road”, which was widely praised by the public. During Chairman Xi Jinping’s visit to the UK in the autumn of 2015, the chairman of the China-Britain Business Council, Lord Sassoon personally presented the report to him.

In 2016, China-Britain Business Council together with Tsinghua University published the second bilingual report “China-Britain Belt and Road Case Studies Report 2016” in Beijing’s People’s Great Hall. This report was based on real project case studies reflecting how the two both China and the UK’s enterprises have developed cooperation. This year, the China-Britain Business Council and Chinese Academic of International Trade and Economic Cooperation Ministry of Commerce (CAITEC) has jointly published the third edition series report during the Belt and Road Forum in Beijing in May – “The Belt and Road initiative in the southern silk road: cooperation and opportunity between UK and China”, which focuses on the southern silk road development, and encourages UK and Chinese firms being partners in projects at countries along the Belt and Road routes.

As for the actual progress China made under ‘The Belt and Road’ strategy in the development of infrastructure construction, energy, telecommunications, logistics, etc., the China-Britain Business Council will continue to promote business cooperation for this purpose, based on the third edition report in multiple areas at home and abroad (Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Haikou, Nanning, Fuzhou and Singapore, Burma, Cambodia, and other countries) and plans to carry out a series of seminars.
