Dragon Trail is looking to hire an experienced business developer for its Commercial Team, based in either Beijing or Shanghai.

 

The Market Development Manager (Outbound/ International Markets) will primarily work with the Chief Commercial Officer and Director of International Markets to develop business with international travel and lifestyle brands, international education organizations and other export sectors seeking to develop the Chinese market and other key markets.

Both Chinese and foreign candidates are welcome to apply. The candidate must have excellent oral and written English language skills.

Separately, we are currently hiring a second Market Development Manager for Chinese candidates only.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform market research, develop, negotiate, and close deals
  2. Identify potential clients and the decision makers within the client organization and build relationships into sales opportunities
  3. Develop new markets (regional, industry verticals etc)
  4. Retain and grow existing accounts by presenting new solutions and services to clients
  5. Create tailor-made professional and effective proposals and pitches
  6. Attend industry functions, such as events and conferences to source qualified leads improve the Company’s visibility in the industry
  7. Using your knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the Company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators

 

Essential Experience/ Skills:

  1. Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in business development/sales
  2. Experience in digital marketing and/or travel a big plus
  3. Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the creation and execution of professional proposals and presentations
  4. Ability to create clear, logical and customized quotations
  5. Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to work independently and build networks across the industry
  6. Ability to quickly develop new commercial relationships and earn trust
  7. Multicultural work experience preferred, especially in China
  8. Excellent English language skills required
  9. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
