The successful candidate will play a leading role in the planning and implementation of all British Chamber marketing and communications. We are seeking a confident and energetic team player with proven management experience and excellent communication skills. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow the current British Chamber marketing and communication channels, as well as cultivate new opportunities. The role will entail managing a varied and large number of projects designed to promote the development of the British Chamber in China.

Your main responsibilities include the following and any other duties that may arise in the course of your work.

  • Understand BCCC’s vision, mission and objectives to create and manage a marketing strategy to support this, aim to have brand consistency and guidelines for online and offline.
  • Develop and grow BCCC’s communication channels; use a mix of channels including website, email newsletters, business media, online networks and WeChat account to communicate regularly with Chamber members about news, updates, projects, events, jobs, privilege club.
  • Increase the profile of the Chamber among the international & domestic business communities and media, increasing awareness of the Chamber services, membership revenue and event attendance.
  • Plan and implement direct marketing approaches including targeting, personalisation of messages and measurability; data analysis, customer profiling and segmentation
  • Manage, monitor and update all platforms and accounts (website, wechat, LinkedIn)
  • Develop a media & PR strategy for major Chamber projects to increase its visibility to potential members and external stakeholders with consistent messaging and regular exposure.
  • Develop hard copy marketing collateral to promote Chamber membership and activity to visitors to the British Business Centre and for use at all events.
  • Work with members and media to develop stimulating content that increases the profile and highlights the achievements of the British business community, and with internal CBBC & Chamber team to highlight cross-sector news that engages members
  • Liaise with other Chamber staff to act as a channel for information.
  • Provide on-site support at events.
  • The marketing manager will also act as the Secretariat of the British Chamber Executive Committee
  • Work with BCCC Exco to set KPI’s.


Requirements
The ideal candidate will be energetic, highly motivated, IT literate, an excellent organiser and communicator, an active listener and a team player with a proven ability to work independently. Chinese (both spoken and written) is considered an asset but not compulsory. Specific requirements for the role are as follows:

  • Bachelor degree or above
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • At least 3-4 years’ relevant working experience in an international environment
  • Deep understanding of communication channels
  • Excellent project management skills, providing careful attention to detail
  • Demonstrable understanding of UK-China business issues
  • Excellent team work and communication to drive Chamber engagement
  • Passion for business development and excellent client facing skills
  • Have an understanding of budgeting
  • A flexible and entrepreneurial style and a quick learner
  • Willing to be flexible with working hours
