Sino-UK Symposium on Physiological Measurements and their Clinical Applications was successfully held on 21 April 2017 at BJUT. This symposium was co-organized by Anglia Ruskin University（ARU）, member of China Britain Business Council, and the Education and Training Branch of China Medical Equipment Association (CMEA).
Prof Song Zhang, College of Life Science and Bioengineering (CLSB), BJUT chaired the symposium, with the welcoming speech delivered by Prof Yu Chang, Vice Dean of CLSB, BJUT, Prof Dingchang Zheng of ARU and Prof Rugang Zhong, a senior board member of CMEA. World-renowned experts from both universities and enterprises of UK and China launched a multidisciplinary discussion of the state-of-the-art research topics, particularly on the measurement of arterial pulses and their clinical applications. Following the establishment of the Artery Research Association in Europe, North America and Asia, a proposal to initiate the China Artery Research Association has been discussed.
This Sino-UK symposium increases the national and international reputation and visibility of BJUT in the field of biomedical engineering. Meanwhile, it promotes knowledge exchange, and enhances the future development of medical technology and device innovation.
