Tingting Yang, China-Britain Business Council
Tingting is responsible for the overall success of CBBC in East China Region – enhancing CBBC’s reputation and impact, maintaining and developing stakeholder relationships and member engagement, nurturing and developing commercial opportunities, and strengthening CBBC’s outreach work in the provinces. She sits in the Shanghai Office with an oversight of the offices in Hangzhou and Nanjing.
Prior to CBBC Tingting headed the outreach work of the British Consulate-General in Shanghai, developing working relationships with local stakeholders and has led on a number of high-profile projects in the region and nationally.
Jeff Astle, China-Britain Business Council
Jeff is based in Shanghai, but his role as CBBC Executive Director covers the whole of China. He has a wealth of business, management consultancy, research and corporate training experience, and his 20-year career includes trade and product marketing, business analysis, market analysis, international business development, and financial management.
Jeff has 15 years’ experience working in the Asia-Pacific region, with the last six years in China, in the education, media, entertainment, and sports & leisure sectors. Before Shanghai he worked in London, Hong Kong, Singapore and Shenzhen.
John Edwards, British Consulate General
John took up his position as British Consul-General Shanghai in June 2015. He leads the British Government’s engagement in East China: Shanghai, Zhejiang, Anhui and Jiangsu. John has been with the Foreign and Commonwealth since 1996. Before taking up the Consul-General post he worked at the British Embassy for four years as Minister Counselor (Prosperity) with the overall responsibility for UK-China policy collaboration on climate change, urbanisation, energy and healthcare, along with strategic oversight of the science and innovation network.
Gary Chen, British Consulate General Shanghai
Gary Chen is the Senior Regional Cities Office for Zhejiang Province at BCG Shanghai. For almost five years Gary has been working with a wide range of government, business and academic stakeholders in Zhejiang Province to further the consulate’s work in this dynamic region. His main interests include mutual senior visits, private sector publicly listed companies in Zhejiang, and outbound investment. Gary is based at the University of Nottingham’s campus in Ningbo from which he is also a graduate. He also holds a masters degree from the London School of Economics.
Chen Wu, Global Business Review, The Economist
Mr. Wu Chen is the Editorial Director of The Economist Global Business Review and Director of Editorial Products, The Economist, China, based in Shanghai. Prior to that, he was the Head of Editorial (Asia Pacific), EuroFinance, The Economist Group. He has been the Editor of CFO China, also an Economist Group publication from 2005 to 2009. In his journalism career, he has worked for BusinessWeek in Hong Kong, Bloomberg News in Singapore, and the international news department of Xinhua (New China) News Agency in Beijing.
Andrew Moss, GKN China
Based in China since January 2014, Andrew Moss is responsible for all GKN Group activities in China reporting directly to the Group Chief Executive.
Following experience in both the public and private sector Andrew Moss began his GKN career as Human Resources Director at GKN Westland Aerospace in 1994 in the UK. He went on to hold various senior divisional and corporate positions in Human Resources, Employment Policy and Leadership Development at GKN.
Bryan Cress, TheCityUK
Bryan joined TheCityUK in September 2013 to lead its work on Asia Pacific markets. His remit includes all aspects of promoting the interests and activities of the UK-based financial and related professional services industry in the region, combining policy and market opportunity dimensions. He runs both the secretariat for the UK’s China free trade zones policy development initiative and the UK secretariat for the India-UK Financial Partnership.
Prior to the CBI, Bryan spent his working career with the UK Treasury and Department for International Development. This included time on secondment to the European Commission in Brussels.Register:
