Almost one year has passed since the GDPR came into effect on May 25, 2018. In Europe, enforcement actions and legal cases have already taken place at the one-year mark.

Due to the long arm jurisdiction of the GDPR, many Chinese companies must comply with the regulation. However, due to circumstances specific to Chinese enterprises, such enterprises have encountered a series of challenges and areas of issue in the process of GDPR compliance. For the aforementioned reasons, Chinese companies face increased risks in “going global” and complying with overseas rules.

We will use Fieldfisher’s experience in corporate GDPR compliance to help companies identify and solve problems they may face in this area.
