You are invited to a roundtable discussion to discuss market access issues affecting the legal services sector. The event will also be attended by CBBC’s new Chief Executive Matthew Rous (link) who would like to meet you and share some thoughts.
The British government is here to represent UK invested businesses in China, and has high-level dialogue with Chinese counterparts around market access issues which impact British business operations and prospects. UK businesses have increasingly been calling for their voice to be heard regarding the restrictions to their business operations in China, big or small, and get them onto the agenda.
With this in mind, the British Embassy has asked China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), the British Chambers of Commerce in China (BritChams) and the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) to collaborate to collate a white paper with a list of the most important market access restrictions across a number of industry sectors, including legal services, as well as recommendations for their rectification.
We will circulate some of CBBC/BritChams/CBI’s initial thoughts on market access issues affecting legal services ahead of the roundtable meeting. We are researching this now.
Should you wish to participate, please RSVP to Orestes.Daniel@cbbc.org.cn. As this is a national cross-chamber initiative, we will also be connecting the roundtable live to other regions within China for individuals not based in Shanghai. We look forward to seeing you at the roundtable discussion, where we’ll run our initial findings by you in some detail to elicit your opinions and valuable contributions to the white paper. You will be given sight of the draft white paper again before it goes out.
